The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) recently issued the Measures for the Examination and Assessment of Responsibility for Reduction Goals for Carbon Emissions Per Unit of GDP.
The Measures provide for matters such as the subjects of examination, examination indicators, and the related grading system and procedures. In addition, the Measures make clear that performance regarding reducing carbon emissions per unit of GDP will be included in the comprehensive assessment system of economic and social development for each region (industry) as well as the cadre performance examination system.
