Recently, the State Council replied to the Implementation Plan for High-quality Development of Resource-dependent Areas during in the 14th Five-year Plan Period.
The Implementation Plan was approved in principle. The State Council stipulates that people's governments of provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government, and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps should shoulder their responsibility, formulate provincial implementation plans, and release supporting measures and policies in accordance with the Implementation Plan. Relevant departments of the State Council and entities should strengthen their guidance on this plan according to their division of duties; to secure the scheduled accomplishment of the planning targets, the National Development and Reform Commission should make overall planning and conduct coordination in conjunction with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Natural Resources.
