The Supreme People's Court (SPC) held a consultation meeting on the analysis of judicial adjudication data for the first three quarters of the year on Oct 8. Zhang Jun, president of the SPC, chaired the meeting.
During the meeting, leading officials and heads of SPC departments provided analyses based on their own work. While acknowledging achievements, they adhered to a problem-oriented approach to systematically review weak links and problems reflected in the judicial adjudication data, and put forward suggestions for improvement.
Addressing the meeting, Zhang emphasized the need to strengthen management in a scientific way to better serve the nation's development and complete all the tasks of judicial enforcement for the year with renewed effort.
He said that, since the beginning of this year, courts at all levels have been taking initiatives to achieve continuous improvement in the quality and efficiency of judicial enforcement, and effectively supporting high-quality economic and social development.
While emphasizing many problems remain in judicial enforcement work, Zhang said it is essential to address the issues identified during the meeting and take concrete steps to resolve them.
It is crucial to integrate adjudication management into daily practices, firmly reject erroneous practices such as solely focusing on data, and pursue high quality and efficiency in adjudication management, he said.
More efforts are needed to strengthen guidance and supervision over the lower-level courts, and continuously enhance their adjudication capabilities, especially grassroots courts and frontline judges, according to Zhang. This will facilitate the proper resolution of more disputes at an earlier stage and ensure that the people have a greater and more tangible sense of fairness and justice, he added.
